Year 7 Religious Studies

What we study

  • What do Buddhists believe and do?
  • How should we treat animals?
  • Who was Gandhi?
  • Is God real?
  • Independent project
  • What do stories mean in religion and philosophy?

Optional learning activity

In year 7 Religious Studies, we look at lots of different topics, including:

  • Buddhism
  • Animal rights
  • Gandhi
  • God
  • Stories, including Rama and Sita

We have made this website for you, questioningeducationing.co.uk.

We’d like some artwork or photos for the year 7 webpage to make it look better:

  • drawings e.g. of animals
  • artwork e.g. of Gandhi
  • photos e.g. of a garden Buddha statue!

Don’t include photos of yourself or any other student.

So, if you are up for the challenge, pick any topic from year 7, have fun, and be creative. Anything linked to the topics would be great.

You’ll get a housepoint if you decide to enter.

You can do more than piece if you like.

We won’t put all work on the website because there might be a lot.

If any of your work is posted on the website, we’ll award you up to five housepoints and mention your name in the next school newsletter.

Email or hand any work to me (J. Stone in W2) or any RS teacher. We can scan work in if needed :).

Deadline: Monday 27 September 2021

Homework – Uses of animals

Here are the slides from our lesson:

Homework is to do one of these tasks:

(a) A dog and child are trapped in a fire. You can only save one of them? Which one do you save and why?

(b) Research any one of the ways that humans use animals.

Whichever task you do, write at least one paragraph.

You can do this in your book or on paper. You can use a computer if you wish.
